Rompeolas Beach

Rompeolas Beach, Aguadilla
2.5/5

Location: Aguadilla

Getting there: From San Juan, drive 1 hour 30 minutes west to Aguadilla. There is a lare sand parking lot where you’ll see trailers and trucks parked from launching boats. You can park here, just ensure, you aren’t taking one of the big spots intended for boaters.

Things to do: Relax – The water is totally calm at this beach, and the bottom is sandy (there are some rocks in the shallow, but not further out). Whale watch – Aguadilla is a good place in general to go whale watching from January – March, but I got a tip that this is a good spot. Unfortunately, I didn’t spot anything when I brought my binoculars.

Heads up: There will be a lot of boat traffic and jet skis looking for places to anchor in the shallows. On a busy day there really wouldn’t be too much room as this is a rather small beach.
