Sun Bay Beach

Sun Bay Beach
4/5

Location: Vieques Island, Bahía del Sol State Park

Getting there: Take the ferry from Ceiba to Vieques Island. When you arrive on Vieques, take a taxi to Caracas Beach. There will be taxi drivers waiting at the ferry terminal that can take you there. Alternatively, rent a UTV or golf cart for $60.00 – $160.00 and drive 15 minutes to get there. For many locals and visitors alike, this is the easiest beach to get to. If you drove, pass the empty parking lot and take the dirt/sand road onto the beach. The road goes along the length of the 1 mile long stretch of sand. You can set up under the shade of whichever palm tree you like best.

Things to do: Walk the beach – This is a beautiful beach to walk. It’s long and uncrowded on weekdays.  Relax in the shallows – the water is almost always very calm due to the large bay which protects it.

Heads up: This beach can get hit with seaweed so some areas may be unusable.
