Balneario Punta Salinas, Toa Baja
2.5/5

Location: Toa Baja

Getting there: Drive 25 minutes from San Juan to an unusually-shaped peninsula in the nearby Toa Baja. Pull over and park anywhere you like along this long stretch of pale sand.

Things to do: Relax in the shallows – The water is calm and shallow, and while not particularly clear, it is still an excellent place to relax in the sea. Walk the beach – This beach is very long and because of its gently curved shape you can see most of it from anywhere you stand on the beach.

Heads up: There are showers if you look for them. Look for a tall painted cement wall a few feet long. Some areas may be clearer than others, it might be worth scouting out a couple different areas before you setup in the shade.

  • Calm, shallow water.
  • Showers.
  • Close proximity to San Juan.
  • Great for families.
  • Plenty of natural shade.
  • The sand/dirt area where you park your car is not safe to walk barefoot on.
  • The water is more murky than most other beaches on the island.
