Puerto Rico Art Museum

3.5/5

Location: San Juan

Getting there: This museum is located squarely in Santurce. I parked in a paid parking structure right next to the museum and walked to the main entrance. I believe the museum has parking on site somewhere, though I don’t know where it is.

General Info: You’ll pay at a booth near the front door and then choose which hallway to walk down first. You can check out their website to see which temporary exhibit is running. Admission costs $12.00 ($9.00 for residents). I think the price of admission is well worth it, as this is, in my estimation, the best museum in Puerto Rico. There are many impressive and beautiful pieces of art, including some by famous artists. Notable among these is Fransisco Oller. Check out the photos below for my favorite pieces on display when I visited in June of 2023.

Heads up: There is enough to see in this museum that my feet were hurting from standing so long, long before I had seen everything. So, pace yourself. There is a small botanical garden you can walk around if you exit through the back door of the museum.

  • The best museum in Puerto Rico.
  • Significant pieces of art on display.
  • I really have to fish for cons to find one… it isn’t free?
