Playita del condado

Playita del Condado, San Juan
2/5

Location: San Juan

Getting there: There are paid parking lots all over. I parked in this lot and walked there. There may be one or two that are slightly closer.

Things to do: Relax in the water – The water is totally calm but the bottom is pretty rocky. Lay out – There are umbrellas and chairs for rent (or possibly just for hotels guests?), and some natural shade available. Snorkel – There is an area marked by ropes and buoys where you can swim or snorkel. There is pretty much just sea grass. You may see things that live in sea grass like snails, star fish, or sea horses. There is a lot to do and see within walking distance.

Heads up: I hate the parking lot I parked in, it’s given me trouble both times I have parked there. Once it just stopped working for anyone besides those that had some card to scan (presumably for those that work nearby?). So me and some others were stranded in the lot and had to call a number for someone to come save us. I got tired of waiting and followed someone out that swiped a card to open the gate. The next time, the machine that scans your ticket and card could not read my credit card. Luckily I had some cash in the car or I would have been in trouble. Note that I have changed my naming convention with this beach because there is a different beach called “Condado Beach” and so I kept it’s Spanish name which includes the diminutive “ita”, denoting its small size, to distinguish between the two.

  • Calm water.
  • Close to many other things.
  • Parking costs money.
  • Small beach.
