Pine Grove Beach

Location: San Juan

Getting there: 10 minutes away from Condado is the Carolina coastline.  Park on this street if there is room. If not, (and there is a really good chance that there won’t be) you’ll need to park on the main road as close as you can get (cars start parking here).

General Info: This is a good place to learn if there are any waves. The water is very shallow and the bottom is mostly sandy. The problem tends to be that the surf is flat or very low. Those that are learning to surf end up getting pushed into a wave they can only ride a few seconds before they need to hop off before the board reaches the shore. 

Heads up: The surf absolutely can get bigger here, but I have found the surf report more unreliable that other spots.
