Pastillo Beach

Pastillo Beach
2/5

Location: Isabela

Getting there: From San Juan, drive 1 hour 30 minutes west. The road will end in a dead end facing the beach. This is a large beach. When you step onto the sand, I walk left. This is also the way to get to the cave.

Things to do: Walk the beach – This is the main reason to come here as this beach often has fairly rough shore break waves. The beach is long and ends in a large cliff that is visible from the start. When it is low tide and the surf is mellow, you can walk to a large cave near that cliff in a rocky area beyond it. Look for sea glass during your walk, there’s a lot of it!

Heads up: The waves make getting into the water difficult or impossible. This beach is always usually empty, so you are on your own in the event of strong riptides.

  • A scenic walking beach.
  • Sea glass and shells.
  • Nearly always empty.
  • Difficult or impossible to get in the water.
  • If you want to get to the cave, it’s a long walk.
