Ojo de Agua Spring

2.5/5

Location: Vega Baja

Getting there: From San Juan, drive 40 minutes west to the municipality of Vega Baja. The pin will take you directly to the spring. Park somewhere in the surrounding neighborhood. Make sure you aren’t blocking anything, the parking is a little cramped. You may need to walk a ways from where you park to the spring.

General Info: This spring is the largest of all the springs in Puerto Rico, by my estimation. It is also smack-dab in the middle of a random neighborhood. There is plenty of space to take a seat in front of the water. There are a few different places to get food around the spring. Apparently there are string lights all around that they turn on at night, so you can visit even after dark.

Heads up: There are kids flying off the swing, jumping in the water, and trying to sink each other on kayaks. It’s pretty rowdy, especially on weekends. So if you have younger kids, I’m sure they’ll have a great time here.

  • Easily accessible.
  • Food options nearby.
  • In the middle of a neighborhood – not exactly a nature experience.
  • Can get extremely crowded.
