Getting there: From San Juan, drive 2 hours west to the sleepy beach town of Rincón. Drive through Rincón’s main plaza and between a couple buildings to turn into a parking lot right on the beach.

Things to do: Relax in the shallows – This is a sandy beach with mellow waves. The water is not as clear as others in the area, but it’s a great place to hang out in the water.

Heads up:  The beach is often largely uncrowded, maybe because of it’s location behind a Little Caesar’s. The water gets deeper faster than is normal.

  • Calm, sandy shallows.
  • Plenty of natural shade.
  • Beach volleyball court.
  • Close to the main plaza of Rincón.
  • Sand flies in the shade of the trees.
  • Some (small) shore break waves.
