Carlos Rosario Beach

Carlos Rosario Beach, Culebra
3.5/5

Location: Culebra Island

Getting there: Take the ferry from Ceiba to Culebra Island. When you arrive on Culebra, take a taxi to Flamenco Beach. There will be many vans at the ferry terminal all headed there with a fixed price of $5.00 each way. You’ll be dropped off at an entrance point which is private property and you’ll need to pay $2.00 to get in. From there you can walk 20 minutes down a dirt road in the parking lot to the beach. If you rent a UTV, you can drive there instead.

Things to do: Snorkel – the main thing to do at this beach is to snorkel. There is excellent snorkeling at this beach, better even than Flamenco Beach. Much of the snorkeling is a little deeper, but still worth seeing, even if you prefer to stay on the surface. Relax – This is a small beach, but there’s still room to relax on the sand.

Heads up: There will often be boats moored near the shore. The second half of the video below shows snorkeling at this beach. Carlos Rosario and Tamarindo Grande are basically the same beach. (Starts when you see the barracuda).

  • Likely to be uncrowded, but unlikely to be empty.
  • Great snorkeling.
  • The walk to get there is rather long and hot.
