Black Eagle Beach

Black Eagle Beach, Rincón
4/5

Location: Rincón

Getting there: From San Juan, drive 2 hours west to the sleepy beach town of Rincón. The pin will take you to a large parking lot in front of the beach. There is a boat ramp which means you’ll likely find some trucks with trailers parked here. Make sure to park in the normal parking spots.

Things to do: Launch your boat – there is a popular boat ramp at this protected shoreline. Walk the beach – This is a great place to watch the sunset. Many people walk past the boat ramp to the rocky point to get a good view. Relax in the shallow – much of the shoreline is rocky, but there are a few sandy areas where you can enter the water. There can sometimes be waves close to the point, but they’ll be small, perhaps just big enough to body surf for a few seconds. Paddleboard – The water is often so calm here that you may see someone paddle boarding or riding an e foil.

Heads up: Much of the shoreline is rocky, limiting the spots where you can actually enter the water without risking a walk through sea urchin territory.
