Getting there: From San Juan, drive 15 minutes east (depending on traffic) to a popular stretch of beach. This is a long beach but park near the pin to find this specific area. Park on the road and cross the road to get to the sand.

Things to do: Relax in the shallows – There is a long stretch of protected shallow water that’s perfect for families or those looking to relax in perfectly calm water. Eat – Piñones is a popular spot for locals to grab food, especially on the weekend. I have heard a few people tell me some of the best food on the island can be found here.

Heads up: There is only one road along this popular coastline so traffic can be crazy, especially on the weekend.
