El Combate Beach

Location: Cabo Rojo

Getting there: From San Juan, drive 2 hours 15 minutes southwest. You’ll drive south, across the island, then drive west until you get to the west coast. You’ll park at the end of a road outside of an apartment complex. You’ll see an information plaque before a dirt path that leads to the ocean. The walk only takes a couple minutes but it’s hot with very little shade along the way.

Things to do: Relax in the shallows – The water is calm and shallow but not particularly clear. 

Heads up: I think this beach is overrated and have never seen it the way that it appears on social media. It is very hot hear so setting up in the shade is a must. I know that I rate this beach much lower than many others would, but my experience there has been unimpressive.
