Punta Bandera Beach

Getting there: From San Juan, drive 45 minutes east to Luquillo. There are two ways you can get to this beach: You can park at Luquillo beach and walk all the way down it until it ends at this beach or park near Blue Beach and walk from any parking spot you can find at the nearby stores.

Things to do: Relax in the shallows – the water is totally calm and shallow. The sandy bottom turns into seagrass after a few feet so sitting in the shallow is your only option. Walk the beach – this may be one of the best beaches to walk because it is very long, it has places to rest in the shade, and you won’t pass many other people.

Heads up: If there is parking close by, I have not found it. Whichever way you arrive requires a walk.
