countries in the world, and I can see why! The city of Copenhagen is beautiful. In the summer, you can swim in the canals, and they have great hot dogs. Europeans (and most of the world) don&#8217;t know how good they have it. American airfare is out of control.\u00a0 I got in at around 11:00 pm and went right to my accommodation. The bus from the airport had a stop right outside my hostel. <a href=\"https:\/\/maps.app.goo.gl\/ZCCKkE48zxZZ4geb6\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Next House Hostel<\/a> has one of the coolest hostel lobbies I have been to, and I recommend it! the Royal Library<\/a> is tucked between the old library building and Christiansborg Palace. A long reflecting pool runs down the center, surrounded by neatly kept hedges. I geeked out on an unassuming statue of S\u00f8ren Kierkegaard. Kierkegaard used the Royal Library during his lifetime and often walked around the area where the garden is now located. Tower<\/a> offers a good view of the city from the top. The most interesting thing about visiting, though, is that instead of stairs, there is a wide internal ramp that climbs to the top of the tower. It was built so that a horse could pull a carriage to the top, laden with heavy astronomical equipment. Now there&#8217;s room for at least three American tourists with BBL&#8217;s to walk hand in hand to the top, so prescient planning back in emerging into the bright world again, I got some Danish street food. In this case, that meant a hot dog and ebelskivers. Both were really good! It being mid-July meant that the wasps were getting desperate, so I had to walk around while eating the ebelskivers to avoid This time I bought a bacon-wrapped hot dog from 7-Eleven. It had no right to be that good. Famously, 7-Elevens in Japan are awesome, but I found that they were surprisingly impressive in Scandinavia as The roads were packed with foot traffic. I had not believed it would be so warm and had not known that swimming in the canals was allowed. I was surprised to see many swimmers in different sanctioned spots across the city.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-efc0bf0 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"efc0bf0\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><a href=\"https:\/\/maps.app.goo.gl\/UyF1QaJNF4vJCEGc6\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Havnebadet Islands Brygge<\/a> is a popular harbor swim spot across from my hostel. Wooden platforms cut out swimming spots of different depths. Gates enclose the child area so that they don&#8217;t wander into a pool too deep for them. There is a fairly tall dive platform that was fun to jump off. I put my stuff on a small piece of open space. Almost all of the deck was claimed by sunbathers.\u00a0<\/p><p>There was a massive party of some kind across the canal.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div The small road off the highway to get to our house has eroded to an alarming extent, and will eventually collapse, but to live in such a place is well worth the risk. By day, lush, green mountains are visible extending from a small valley. A river cuts a path between the mountains; a short ride on my moped can take me to a spot in the river where a 6 ft waterfall flows into a round pool where green herons fish and locals cool off. By night, a giant white cross on the hill just below us lights up, on Wednesday\u2019s the sound of the church\u2019s hymns makes its way to our porch. The night comes alive with the sound of frogs and insects and the occasional Puerto Rican screech owl. House geckos crawl around the house\u2019s exterior to hunt bugs drawn by the light. I feel lucky every day to live here and do my best to never take it for granted. We love exploring the island and since moving here, have done and seen a lot. My google maps is a messy mix of pins, many are pins of where I want to visit, and dozens more are favorite spots I have saved, from beaches, to hikes, to restaurants, to cultural sites, and more. Puerto Rico is a big island and there is so much to do. We have played the part of tour guide for friends and family on numerous occasions. I like to plan everything, which means a detailed itinerary crafted for every visit. After several such occasions, I have decided to share a travel guide for future visitors to benefit from my experience of planning travel and traveling around this special
