Domes Beach es considerada uno de los mejores lugares para practicar surf en la isla. Seg\u00fan mi experiencia, es lo mejor. Tuve el mejor d\u00eda de surf de mi vida aqu\u00ed. Las olas son limpias y consistentes, el agua es clara y el tiempo de recorrido de cada ola es largo. Puede estar lleno de gente, pero puedes verlo en un d\u00eda con muy poca gente. Si esta no fuera una de las playas m\u00e1s alejadas de mi casa, estar\u00eda aqu\u00ed todo el tiempo. Muchas veces he visto Playa Mar\u00eda considerada el mejor lugar para surfear en Puerto Rico. Est\u00e1 ubicado justo al lado de la playa Domes, al otro lado de una punta rocosa. La costa es rocosa y el remo est\u00e1 m\u00e1s lejos que Domes, pero los dos son muy similares. Ambos tienen olas incre\u00edbles en agua clara. Esta playa puede estar menos concurrida que Domes en los d\u00edas ocupados. Hay m\u00faltiples descansos, por lo que nunca me sent\u00ed abarrotado con alrededor de una docena de surfistas m\u00e1s.\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Jobos tiene surf para todos los niveles, ya que hay olas peque\u00f1as a moderadas que rompen cerca de una barra de arena y olas m\u00e1s grandes que rompen m\u00e1s lejos. Creo que este es el lugar ideal para aprender. Es donde mi esposa y yo aprendimos y todav\u00eda nos encanta surfear aqu\u00ed. El banco de arena hace que sea f\u00e1cil caminar, por lo que ni siquiera es necesario remar con la tabla, lo cual es ideal para principiantes. O bien, puedes remar hacia aguas m\u00e1s profundas con olas m\u00e1s grandes. Las tortugas marinas pastan en algas alrededor de la zona de surf para principiantes, me he topado con ellas m\u00e1s de una vez. M\u00e1gico.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

La Ocho<\/a><\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Balneario del Escambr\u00f3n<\/span>\u00a0(La Ocho) is, as<\/span>\u00a0far as I am concerned, the best surf spot in San Juan for intermediate surfers. It is not a spot for beginners. The waves are mild during much of the year but get huge in the winter. The paddle out to the nearest break takes forever and always leaves me questioning my life choices. About 50 feet out from the coast, in front of the viewing platform, there is a wall of coral. Most waves wouldn\u2019t carry you this far but if conditions are right it is possible, so be wary. That being said, I have made some awesome memories surfing here and when I think of surfing in Puerto Rico, this is the spot I think of because I surf here the most. A sunset surf session at La 8, looking out at Old San Juan from the water made pink and opaque by the setting sun, followed by a hamburger at <\/span>El Hamburger<\/span><\/a>Inolvidable.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Playa Inches<\/a><\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Playa Inches<\/span> usually has pretty small waves or is altogether flat. When you see 2-3 ft on Surfline, it\u2019s on. Inches is a true reef break. The reef is so shallow that there is even a section sticking out of the water. Line up parallel with the exposed coral, there is a break close to the coral that is most consistent and one that breaks slightly further out. The part you surf over varies in depth, most of it is safe if you fall flat on your back or stomach. However, during low tide there are extremely shallow sections; if you fall over them, you are hitting the coral. I have done this twice but I keep coming back. The view from your board looking to the shore will make you grateful to be alive. The longer I have lived in Puerto Rico, the more I find myself coming to this secluded spot. The sunsets here are incredible.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Yo romantizo<\/span> Playa La Selva <\/span>en mi mente. Es dif\u00edcil no hacerlo, es un lugar realmente genial. Conduzca por un largo y accidentado camino de tierra para llegar a una costa virgen y salvaje. Cuando las condiciones son adecuadas, el oleaje es suave y consistente. La vista desde el agua mirando hacia la tierra es hermosa con las monta\u00f1as de El Yunque al fondo. Es un lugar que te hace sentir peque\u00f1o. Sin embargo, las olas pueden volverse grandes y agitadas aqu\u00ed, con peque\u00f1as ventanas entre series, lo que hace que la navegaci\u00f3n sea dif\u00edcil. Este no es un gran lugar para principiantes.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

En invierno las olas pueden llegar a ser enormes. Cada vez que reviso Surfline, las olas m\u00e1s grandes reportadas suelen estar aqu\u00ed. La \u00faltima vez que estuve aqu\u00ed, qued\u00e9 atrapado frente a una gran ola con mi tabla de espuma. Cuatro o cinco olas me hicieron caer hasta que se me rompi\u00f3 la correa y mi tabla fue empujada a la orilla y arrojada contra las rocas. Volver a entrar termin\u00f3 siendo un gran fiasco porque solo hay una entrada y salida segura y una fuerte corriente me alej\u00f3 cuando entraba, tuve que subirme a una tabla de buen samaritano y juntos remamos de regreso al salida. Pero antes de esa desafortunada experiencia, las olas eran muy divertidas, as\u00ed que... Para llegar a ellas, tendr\u00e1s que conducir por un camino de tierra accidentado hasta llegar a un peque\u00f1o estacionamiento con un banco cerca del agua. La ubicaci\u00f3n apartada de esta playa le da cierto encanto, pero es un lugar particularmente bonito.\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\u00c9ste es el lugar m\u00e1s com\u00fan para aprender a surfear. Las olas suelen ser muy peque\u00f1as y rompen cerca de la costa. Incluso cuando las olas son terribles, ver\u00e1s instructores con estudiantes ah\u00ed fuera. Aparcar es un dolor de cabeza, y he venido aqu\u00ed demasiadas veces cuando se supone que hay olas, s\u00f3lo para encontrarlo plano y querer volver aqu\u00ed con demasiada frecuencia.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
